(Rumplestiltskin) Written & Directed by Robert Gilbert

Patutupaiareherehe Adapted from the tale made famous by the brothers Grimm, this version of ‘Rumplestiltskin’ is very much set in Aotearoa. Hinetahi’s father is a proud and boastful man. When a local chief hears of Hinetahi, and her apparent abilities, he shuts her away until she can weave harakeke (flax) into pounamu (greenstone). A mischievous creature, calling himself “Patutupaiareherehe”, solves Hinetahi’s problems … but at what price? Beautifully costumed, this unique reworking of the classic tale will delight audiences of all ages.

Duration: approximately 45 minutes plus Q&A session.

MacbethThis adaptation of excerpts from Macbeth takes place in our own urban underworld. Macbeth, a loyal prospect to his gang boss, is told by teenage witches that he will one day assume great power. Driven by their prophecy, his wife plans to kill Duncan and take the leadership of the gang for herself and her husband. Macbeth's obsessive love for her leads him to agree to her murderous plan, but he finds that maintaining his power will require a lot more from him than first imagined.
